what dan has been up to

dan has been out roaming doing what makes his heart sing. it actually can be a bit of a challenge to get him to shoot me and the kids. but show him a beautiful landscape or wild animal and he is all over it. I will say though he is super as my second shooter at weddings for opposite angles and being in different places. he uses his landscape and animal eye for great overviews and true candids. but if he had his way, he would be out in the wilderness shooting his joy: land, sports and animals. SO not me, nope, i just like to watch. photographing people is my passion. SO i thought i would invite DAN up on here for a day and give you the 411 on his neck of the woods.

Hello everyone. I am not much of a writer so i am just dropping by to give Melina a few days off of writing now and again. I am always trying to rush out at the last minute to get a picture.Usaully i am late,but with kids i can only do what i can do.I still get to see some amazing stuff even if I miss the great shot.Here are some my attempts and experiences in the hills around Lake Tahoe.

this was the harvest moon from emerald bay.

I hiked up to marlette lake 4 miles and was a little late to get the whole lake in.At least it was a good workout.

some fall colors at taylor creek while looking for bears (melina loves this frame).

chasing the bears is awesome this pic i was by myself with bear 94,who has been eating salmon for the 3 yrs I have been going to taylor creek.

this pic was taken with about 40 people around me.This cub and her mom were out there almost everyday.I know Melina has showed some of my little bear cubs i got this spring,but here are a couple never before seen cub shots.

been doing some arranging with our apple hill stash.

i like pears. i left them out in the pouring rain for two whole days. are they still good? oops.

brodie's treasures from our nature hikes mixed with some fall edibles. i will be attempting to roast some chestnuts soon :-)

brodie's new down comforter from ikea. nice and toasty for the nights that have been dipping down into the teens. ebay whimsical art. flea market bookshelf. vintage, thrifted, gifted and personal art and toys. 

seasonal library books. brodie loves the snowman one. he's got it memorized.

random ikea impulse purchases.

iphone pics from our ikea trip about a month ago. i want that flower light and those shelves.

made a bunch of these little ghosts too. they are so easy and the kiddies are luvin' them. hope you are happy halloweening! do share :-)

punkins'

went to, you guessed it, apple hill for some pumpkin pickin', apple cider drinkin' and, our favorite, apple doughnut eatin'! they were so cute. honeybelle tried to hug, sit on or pick up every pumpkin she saw. brodie collected walnuts. dan and i have been coming here forever, i remember 10+ years ago with my little point and shoot snapping pics of the apple trees and cool looking gourds in the big ol' wooden crates. and now we get to share the fun with our kids. i do not apologize for all of their pictures, i can't help muhself :-)

i love decorating my home with pumpkins and gourds and such. slow cooking that fills the air with deliciousness. oh and dressing up my mini me. what does fall mean to you?
