our weeklong vacation to chicago was as wondrous as i envisioned... dan was born in chicago and even though he grew up in denver, he's a chicagonian forever... because of him, i've always longed to go to this special place that he holds so dear... then it happened... what's even better is that we went as a family... and we stayed with family there... and even more family met us there! now seven weeks later here i am looking at the pictures for the first time... and i'm instantly back...

the kids were amazing... after a cancelled flight, 3 unexpected layovers, running from terminal to terminal... we landed at chicago o'hare waaayyy... past their bedtime... throughout it all they were calm, happy and curious little travelers.

since dan lived here just up until his toddler years, he had yet to experience the acrhitectural boat tour (there is a skyscraper in the shape of a champagne bottle!)... the city from atop the tower... the giant ferris wheel at navy pier.

we tried all kinds of chicago fare (yes, french fries on a hot dog)... and uncle 'diddy' flew in from denver!

lots of visiting, laughter, outings and family meals with grandmas and grandpas... aunties and uncles... cousins and friends.

i didn't know basketball games were so much fun... maybe it was because it was da bulls!

we headed home on coud nine... it was sooo... good... thank you family... we love you... oh chicago... xo
